1. Presentation

The blog Para Viagem, that means for travel, came from the experience of a group of friends who have a passion in common: to travel.

Was fully developed by Rafael Miranda, graduated in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and expert on web development and SEO (search engines optimization), which made possible to Para Viagem, early on, a huge growth potential.

We started blogging in the beggining of 2013, writing about several destinations, publishing our travel itineraries and giving tips to future travelers always based on our experiences.

With 4 years old Para Viagem has reached a good emphasis on search engines, social networks, content aggregators and travel bloggers networks.

This success is the result of high quality work that requires to much effort and investment, producting exclusive content focusing on our experiences, developing and improving the blog in a professional way and fully optimized.

2. Statistics

Some statistical data are important to assess and understand the audience growth that the site has reached.

The chart below shows the visits of May 2018, with accumulated data of unique visitors and page views during this period:

In this period, Para Viagem blog has reached more than 70,000 unique users, generating more than 150,000 pageviews in a single month.

Google currently has almost 6,000 pages indexed from our blog, which confirms our good work in optimization.

Another important point of view is that about 85% of the blog's audience comes from people searching for travel tips and itineraries in search engines. For this reason our public becomes more commercial, greatly increasing the chances of our reader be interested in services offered by our partners, after all, was him who started to search for this information probably because already want to take a trip to that destination.

This is quite different from blogs where most of his visits resulted from social networks, where people receive information in your timeline and access by curiosity, without necessarily having a scheduled trip.

It's very important consider from where comes the visitors of a website because this detail can guarantee success or failure of a partnership.

3. Visitors Profile

Besides the audience, it is also important to analyse the visitors profile who access the blog and so make sure that this audience is suited to your advertising.

In the chart below you can see the distribution of our traffic by age group, making it clear that the majority of visitors has between 25 and 35 of age.

Other information that can be very useful for the advertiser is the proportion of men and women who visit the site. The Para Viagem has a certain balance in this criteria, but you can see in the graph that women are majority.

4. Internet Propagation

Some other information is also very important to verify how well inserted is the blog on the internet.

You can follow all updates and blog news at Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Google+. Currently our page at Facebook has more than 9,300 followers while our Instagram account already reached 100,000 followers.

- External Links

In the report of Google Webmaster Tools, we can see that this search engine knows around 35,000 external links around the internet pointing to Para Viagem.

5. Readers Participation

To ensure the success of any advertising action or partnership with a travel blog is very important that the blog has a good engagement with its audience.

A great thermometer to measure how our readers interact at Para Viagem is to evaluate the amount of comments. We currently have almost 8,600 comments posted at a total of 340 published articles.

Many readers commented asking for tips, making questions about the trip, but we also received some comments simply congratulating and thanking for the information.

6. Responsive Layout

In April 2015 we launched a new responsive layout. This means that all blog pages will automatically adjust to the size of the devices, becoming easier to read.

Although we have kept your visual identity, our new mobile friendly layout works with what is most modern in development technology for internet pages.

With the considerable traffic increase in mobile devices like tablets and smartphones, Now Para Viagem can provide a quality access to all yours readers, no matter where they are.

7. Case: Booking (2014-2016)

Our participation in the Booking affiliate program, a service with comparison and hotels reservations worldwide, is a great example because it clearly shows the potential return that tourism advertisers may have when publicize their products or services on the blog Para Viagem.

The success determinant factor of this partnership is the dissemination strategy we use. According to our reports, 95% of the reservations generated comes from clicks performed in links inside the articles. Although we still use some Booking banners on the website, our focus is to recommend hotels using a text link, as part of the content and our experience, after all is the content and our opinion that brings reader to the blog.

We can clearly see the increase of income, reaching nearly 600 nights reserved by our readers in a single month in May 2015 and most recently in May and June 2016.

Even with the brazilian economy crisis scenario and high dollar exchange rate, we had only a slight fall in late 2015, but already showing a strong increase in 2016. We believe that this number will continue to grow due to the increased projection of our audience and expansion of blog content.

8. RBBV Member

The Para Viagem is part of RBBV – Brazilian Network of Travel Bloggers – a community composed of many bloggers with the objective of exchange experiences.

The RBBV has several quality and transparency guidelines, not only with the readers of the blog but also focused on the relationship with the market.

9. Advertising and Partnership

Para Viagem works with several types of advertising, from banner ads to editorial advertising.
